What would you do for a view like this?
✨
Well, the answer would be hiking. But completely unaware of the place, we had hired an autorickshaw to take us around Agumbe.
🛺
Our auto guy proudly took us to Kundadri Hills, the highest peak in the area. "Vehicles go up to the top," he said.
🤷♂️
Relaxed, Pooja and I soaked in the beautiful countryside and the fresh air and continued with our earlier conversation. After a pleasant 20 minute ride, we saw the peak. Glancing apprehensively at each other, we wondered how the auto was going to make the climb.
As the climb began, thankfully our auto went up with ease. Haa, it's not steep, we'll make it, I thought to myself. The road turned narrower but as we went up the view turned spectacular.
❤️
Ugh. Spoke too soon, I cursed myself. As the climb became steeper, our auto started jerking, looking for a way out from the climb. We asked him, "Should we get down?"
😥
"No, no, don't worry." We tried to distract ourselves and enjoy the view. A few minutes later, the auto let out a sigh and just gave up.
🙄
"Madam you will have to get down and walk up till the next turn."
🤦🏻♀️
"Okay okay, no problem. We will climb up."
🧗♀️
We prior trekking experience, both of us were okay with it. Not a big deal. But somehow, walking uphill on a tar road is not the same as climbing a mountain. It is much more difficult and tiring. Panting, we reached the next turn and waiting for our ride to show up. In that silence, we could hear him accelerating hard and the auto struggling to maintain the momentum. They reached, we got in as fast as we could, and hoped we don't have to repeat the cycle.
🏃🏻♀️
All four of us reached the top, intact. We got down to explore and give the auto some rest. Steps led us to the 17th century Jain temple for which the hill is famous for. And this gorgeous view. We immediately went into a photo clicking spree to capture the turned-green-by-monsoon beauty below us. We sat down near the pond, which in the earlier days provided water to the people who came up.
✨
A few minutes of silence later, we braced ourselves for the next autorickshaw adventure.🛺

Waiting for my superpowers to activate to run up the waterfall✨
A tiring more-than-an-hour long autorickshaw ride on a painfully horrible road brought us to Sirimane Falls. Through the entire journey Pooja and I were praying that this places does not turn out to be a dud.🙄
And boy, all our irritation and tireness vanished the minute we heard the thunderous sound of the Falls. We were in for a treat.💃🏻
Excitedly, we went down the narrow pathway towards the gushing sound. And behold, Sirimane Falls, in its full glory.✨
But can you imagine what our secondary view was? Middle-aged men in their undies playing in the water.🙈
There was no one except for them and us. Pooja and I looked at each other, contemplating running away from the scene. But why should we? No one owns the place. We went on the other side and dipped our toes in the cold water. Continued chit-chatting and ignored them completely. A few minutes later, the men came out, changed, and left.
Breathing a sigh of relief, we frolicked as we liked, took pictures of the falls, posed, threw water on each other and gossiped our hearts out.😎
✨
Do you have any men-in-undies stories?
